The Sylvenie Lindor Foundation recently held the third launch of Canadian Black Youth Action for Change (CBYAC). Originally introduced as Toronto Youth Action for Change (TYAC) in 2019 and relaunched in 2021, the initiative has now been rebranded to CBYAC. Its mission is to foster ongoing dialogue with young Canadians in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Calgary, focusing on key themes of #Justice, #Leadership, and #Entrepreneurship.

The CBYAC launch took place at the Courtyard by Marriott, 350 Dalhousie Street, Ottawa, ON, from 5 PM to 7 PM. From February 2025 to January 2026, we celebrated and engaged with Black youth across the country, fostering discussions on inclusion and economic integration.

About CBYAC

Sport

Sports foster unity and bring young people together. With the slogan “Soccer for Integration, Soccer for Social Cohesion,” the CBYAC is organizing two soccer tournaments that will bring together young athletes from various communities. Culture – Cohesion –Conversation!

Entrepreneurship

Start your own business. Exceed your expectations by realizing your full potential. The Youth Entrepreneurship Program is intended to work with young people who want to be entrepreneurs and business owners. While the program’s goal is to promote economic and social inclusion through workshops and seminars, the CBYAC will explore the concepts of trade, labour market, autonomy, and the global economy with young entrepreneurs. Create – invent -innovate!

Leadership

In today’s society, you can become a young leader. Investigate the opportunities that will allow you to better yourself and your community. Leadership programs aim to expose young people to the world on both a national and international scale. The program will assist individuals in developing positive relationships with their respective communities. The CBYAC is well-designed to help today’s young leaders better understand the Canadian justice system. Participation –Inspiration – Motivation!
