Daniel Steinhart is a registered social worker in the province of Ontario as well as a certified ESL instructor. Mr. Steinhart received his master’s in philosophy from York University in 2015. He went on to do a master’s in social work at Yeshiva University in New York City where he graduated in 2019. At York, Mr. Steinhart worked as a research assistant where his focus was on the philosophies of Descartes and Hume. At Yeshiva University, Daniel completed two internships at a Seniors Center in Harlem and a high-school in The Bronx respectively. Mr. Steinhart got his ESL certification while abroad in Thailand and had the opportunity to work at a public school in Bangkok where he taught high-school students. Mr. Steinhart also works as a one-on-one tutor and is an essay writing specialist. He has worked with many students at the high-school and university level with the goal of helping them improve their writing.
Mr. Steinhart is a native of Toronto where he currently resides. He met Amikley Fontaine in 2014 when they were both in undergrad studying philosophy at York University. The two immediately discussed their desire to give back to the community. Mr. Steinhart was quickly offered the role of General Secretary for the Foundation and embraced the opportunity to help others and fight for social justice. Eight years later, Mr. Steinhart remains an avid and committed member of the Foundation as he carries out a number of important tasks that help the Foundation thrive and continue to make a strong impact in the community. In his spare time, Mr. Steinhart loves to travel to different destinations and hopes to continue to have the opportunity to teach English in other countries. He also loves to play tennis, does crossword puzzles and writes screenplays. Mr. Steinhart believes in a Canada that promotes equality and justice for all and he aims to be active in bringing about this sort of change.
