Our Community Influence

One of our Foundation’s goals is to engage black youth in Canada. Having said that, our work focuses on creating a community in which young people can find the resources they need to reach their full potential.

Our programs include: Multicultural Forum which is to facilitate interaction among Canadian youth from various communities. Soccer for integration and social cohesion that bridges the gap between black youth from different communities and eventually reduces social and linguistic barriers in our community. While we are involved in two main activities, we believe that engaging youths in action for change is the most important way to transform our environment into a better place to live.

Our team is made up of several dedicated members who are passionate about our mission, mandate, and objectives. The work of our Foundation promotes intercultural exchange and dialogue aimed at integrating visible minority groups, which leads to social cohesion. Lawyers, successful business leaders, community activists, nurses, teachers, sociologists, economists, interpreters, accountants, philosophers, social workers, youth counsellors, and young people who are involved in and deeply committed to our community comprise our team.

The Toronto Youth Action for Change (EYAC) plans to reach out to at least 1000 youth in the GTA, including Scarborough, Etobicoke, North York, and the general public. We will focus on some of the most pressing issues confronting the black youth community and encourage them to be good community citizens. The TYAC will address the challenges faced by youth in the black community, such as crime, social and linguistic barriers, unemployment, and poverty, in order to foster economic integration.

Our Foundation uses soccer as a primary magnet to reach out to black youth in Canada. The Foundation’s Soccer Club, with the slogan “Soccer for Integration & Inclusion – Soccer for Social Cohesion,” facilitates all programs to help these young athletes succeed not only on the soccer field, but in life as a whole, while staying out of trouble. We play at Downview Sport Centre and Scarborough every week at night. We play on the weekends

You can become a young leader and entrepreneur in today’s society. The goal of the leadership and Entrepreneurship programs are to expose young people to the world on a national and international scale. As an entrepreneur, you should also maximize your potential in ways that exceed your expectations. The Leadership program will help individuals build positive relationships with their communities while exploring opportunities to better themselves and their communities. The Youth Entrepreneurship Program is designed to work with young people who want to be business owners and entrepreneurs. While the program’s goal is to promote economic and social inclusion through workshops and seminars, the TYAC will engage young entrepreneurs in discussions about trade, labour markets, autonomy, and the global economy.

The homeless population in our city is among the most vulnerable to the pandemic. As a result, the Foundation made assisting this vulnerable population a top priority. We have been able to provide 4,750 meals, PPE, and other supplies to homeless people on multiple occasions since the outbreak began.

The Sylvenie Lindor Foundation is deeply committed to assisting refugees in settling into their new lives in Canada. One of the most important ways is that we do our part to make their arrival in Canada less stressful and more manageable. There is currently a severe refugee crisis, with many good and decent people unable to return to their home country and thus requiring the assistance of countries such as Canada.
